Using the Breath

The following steps can help maintain a healthy balance:

Nourish: Eat well. Food (including fluids) provide most energy needs each day (air and sunlight are also important).

Move: Your body and brain need to be exercised each day. Gentle, deliberate and controlled exercises will maintain flexibility of mind and body. It is not always a case of more is best

Sensing: Be aware of what your body is telling you: fatigue, aches and pains are signs the body and mind need attention.

Breathe: The breath says much about how the body and mind are feeling: shallow breathing can mean a stressful situation; longer, deeper breathing shows someone who is calm and relaxed.

Relaxation: Relaxation allows the body to rejuvenate itself. A good balance of mind, body and emotions indicates a feeling of wellness.
