Meditation Classes and Workshops

Classes and Workshops are generally held in my studio in Stanley.  They can be arranged at other venues.  Comfortable seating in a quiet environment are the basic needs. Ideal class numbers are 8-10 persons.

Teaching basic meditation practices takes about 4 hours.  It is best taught with time between each session that allows practice and feedback.

Individual sessions allow for more personal teaching to address particular needs.  These sessions are completely confidential. The number of sessions will generally be 4 to 6 hours conducted over three weeks depending upon individual requirements. The cost is $50 per hour.  Some reading material, a booklet on meditation practices learned during the sessions and a CD of integrated meditation practices are provided.

Workshops are general sessions of learning basic meditation in an open environment with other people who desire to learn meditation for a variety of reasons. Participants are not required to disclose the reasons for learning.  The meditation practices taught cover most needs.  Practice is the most important feature of learning meditation. The benefits of meditation become evident within a few weeks of beginning a regular practice

Workshops are held over 2 sessions a week apart.  They are generally held on a Saturday afternoons from 2-4.30pm.  A total of 5 hours learning.  Cost is $120.  Participants are provided with a booklet of the meditations learned and a CD of integrated meditation practice.

During 2012 first term regular Group Meditation sessions will be held in Beechworth on Monday evenings – 5.45-7.15pm – at the Uniting Church Hall – Cost $10,  in Stanley on a Tuesday evening 6-7.30pm – Cost  $10 per session, and Rutherglen every second Friday 12.30-1.30pm.

The term will commence in Monday 16 January at Beechworth, Tuesday 17 January at Stanley, and Friday 20 January at Rutherglen.  Term break will be taken from Friday 30 March.  Classes will recommence on Monday 16 April.

Group sessions are sitting meditation.   How you sit and what you sit on is up to you.  Chairs are provided with cushions to soften the impact of the chairs.  Some lie on the floor.  All are welcome.  It does help if you have some knowledge and experience of meditation.  If you haven’t but would like to take part in a group session consider a workshop or individual class.
